Yanesen refers to the combined areas of Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi, located in Tokyo’s Bunkyo and Taito wards. This part of the city is known for its old town feel, with narrow lanes, wooden homes, and local crafts. Unlike many other parts of Tokyo, Yanesen survived much of the wartime damage, making it one of the few areas where the city’s past is still visible in daily life.
